The report analyzes high-growth markets for seaweed beyond the traditional uses for human consumption, aquaculture feed, and hydrocolloids. The research that forms the basis of this report involved identifying relevant industry sectors with high-growth opportunities for seaweed biomass. Following a prioritization exercise, ten markets were selected to be covered in the report: biostimulants, animal feed additives, pet food, methane-reducing feed additives, nutraceuticals, alternative proteins, pharmaceuticals, construction materials, fabrics and bioplastics, and credit schemes for ecosystem services such as bioremediation, biodiversity enhancement, and blue carbon.
