Wittaya Aqua is a business intelligence and analytics company that has developed a platform enabling data collected throughout the aquaculture supply chain to be used to generate prescriptive insights. These insights can increase operational efficiency by predicting farm and feed efficiency and provide key sustainability metrics such as waste outputs, carbon footprints and feed conversion ratios.

Univiv is a probiotics company creating technologies with applications in water quality management and feed additives. They create antivirals, microbiome enhancements for guts and water, and waste water treatments. They specialise in working with Archaea microbes.

Umami Bioworks is a development and production tech platform for sustainable seafood. Umami is building the Operating System for cultivated seafood with a modular, automated, ‘plug & play’ production solution. Using inputs (cell lines, fish growth factors & serum free media formulations) and process development techniques (continuous proliferation, cell differentiation) they create product formations.

TransparentSea specialises in land-based, production systems for shrimp using clearwater, proprietary technology. TransparentSea is currently catering to the high-value, fresh shrimp market segment with a pilot site in Los Angeles.

Symbrosia have developed SeaGraze™, the highest-quality Asparagopsis taxiformis (AT) feed additive in the world. Symbrosia inputs a patented cultivar of AT bred from 500+ diverse strains of AT sourced from four major Hawaiian islands into an optimised, semi-automated, on-land production system. When fed to cattle, SeaGraze lowers methane output by up to 85% and improves feed conversion ratio.

The Crop Project (TCP) delivers end to end clean label, super functional ingredients from regenerative crops beginning with Kelp. TCP improves the profitability of small farms and develops biodiversity by transforming regenerative crops into useful ingredients improving human and planetary health.

The software is system agnostic and can be implemented at or post build.

Pontus Research is a contract research organisation specialising in the aquaculture and marine & aquatics sectors. They have experience in academic and commercial research and specialise in commercial RAS production and provide testing services for feed ingredients, additives and formulations.

Precision Measurement Engineering (PME) have a 40+ year history of developing instruments for rigorous research in the world’s most challenging waters. Aquasend is a PME company developing real-time water quality monitoring (DO & temperature) improving overall fish health and reducing costs.

Pacific Hybreed is a shellfish breeding company incorporating crossbreeding for hybrid vigor, enhancing shellfish seed yield and resilience. Pacific Hybreed have an advanced genetics and cross-breeding program focused on sterile triploids, all female, seed.

Oo-Nee Sea Urchin Ranch is a company focused on transforming ecologically destructive sea urchins into a high-value culinary delicacy. Their primary mission is to address the problem of overpopulated sea urchin barrens, which are areas where sea urchins have overgrazed kelp forests, leading to the degradation of these vital marine ecosystems. By reducing sea urchin populations in overgrazed areas, Oo-Nee helps restore kelp forests, which in turn supports marine biodiversity and enhances carbon sequestration.

Peptobiotics produces a synthetic biology alternative to livestock antibiotics. Peptobiotics produces cost-competitive recombinant antimicrobrial peptides via a patent-pending precision fermentation process to serve as antibiotic alternatives in aquaculture, poultry & livestock. The company has executed trials for poultry alongside shrimp. Their focus is on vibrio bacteria (EMS).

Oceanfarmr offers a full-suite solution for ocean farmers – from software solutions to optimize farmer productivity, to farm financing products.

MarineSitu provides underwater monitoring technologies for the growing blue economy. This includes hardware, software, and AI enabled data management solutions specifically developed for long term continuous monitoring in harsh marine environments. MarineSitu monitoring technology is not species specific and can monitor and train models on all visible marine life.

NexaBiome's patented technology allows bacteriophages to be securely attached to various surfaces, providing increased stability for addressing antibiotic resistance and food sustainability. By attaching specific bacteriophages to animal feeds, antibiotics in the food chain can be reduced or substituted. Additionally, bacteriophages have potential human applications in microbiome engineering for various conditions. The ability to attach bacteriophages to particles enhances their effectiveness in probiotic supplements or encapsulated forms.

Montana Microbial Products developed a 65% barley protein concentrate (BPC). BPC can replace fishmeal and has competitive advantages over other plant-based proteins due to barley's low cost, strong supply and resilience. They produce BPC using an enzymatic process without harsh solvents or chemicals. BPC can be produced from local barley supplies close to feed manufacturers, reducing the carbon footprint associated with transportation of other protein ingredients.

New School Foods has developed a novel set of platform technologies to produce whole cut & muscle texture based plant based seafood & meat analogues at scale & cost parity. Their product has achieved texture and flakiness similar to salmon and like salmon, the product turns pink when cooked. The team has conducted tasting events around the world and received very positive feedback from consumers.

Minnowtech is a sonar-based shrimp biomass estimation hardware company. Minnowtech combines state-of-the-art acoustics with a deep understanding of marine ecology to produce shrimp biomass estimates that are 95% accurate.

Kuehnle AgroSystems (KAS) is a Hawaii based microalgae development company that, via its patented ‘dark’ fermentation process and unique collection of natural Hawaiian algae strains, can produce novel high value/low-cost products. The first KAS product is astaxanthin for the nutraceutical, food and feed market.

Manolin aggregates fish health data from thousands of sources and employs AI-learning models to clean and validate the data. Their real-time analytics generates accurate and reliable forecasts and streamlines insights so farmers can make informed decisions more efficiently.

Knip ferments an all-natural microbial organism with high crude protein content and gut health benefits for use as a fish feed ingredient. JUV™ is Knip’s current flagship product, a natural feed additive, fermented from a strain of Methylobacterium extorquens, a tree leaf microorganism using methanol as carbon source. It targets stressful periods in the fish or shrimp culture cycle, particularly in the nursery stages where the animals are most sensitive and handled a lot.

Living Seas Aquafeeds is a specialty manufacturer of feeds for crustacean aquaculture including shrimp, lobster, and crabs. The signature product is a shrimp supplement which is in the form of a ready-to-feed pellet containing a mixture of seaweeds, mangrove leaves, and volcanic minerals. It is made through a proprietary fermentation process that releases powerful bioactive molecules that improve shrimp health, growth, and productivity.

JALA is an end-to-end Shrimp Farming Solution that helps shrimp farmers increase cultivation production and efficiency in the shrimp industry. They offer an app for recording and analysing shrimp farms, finance solutions for farmers and provide a market for shrimp farmers to sell their harvest.

Impact9 Energy and Marine (Impact-9) develops Inflatable Marine Products for Aquaculture Containment Technology. The initial product was Net9 Front End Engineering Design (FEED) for marine fish production. In developing the sub-scale demonstration, Impact-9 has become an expert in pressure supported structures for aquaculture, developing SeaStrut which delivers beam flotation for shellfish & seaweed.

HEDROS BIO has created a development platform for the creation of phages tailored towards specific markets. Their PhageChooser software allows for the creation of phage cocktails with up to 10 distinct phage entities. The platform allows for phage optimisation, significantly reducing the risk of resistance and allows for the stacking of desired antimicrobial targets which has the potential of producing multi-target solutions.

GreenSage Prebiotics (GSP) is focused on the development and application of prebiotics from upcycled copra meal into a high value feed and food ingredient. GreenSage Prebiotics’ Pretego™ is a high purity, soluble prebiotic, specifically designed to maximize direct pathogen control and to promote the growth of beneficial bacteria, which will indirectly reduce the impact of pathogens while providing other health benefits.

Halophilic Marine Agriculture, cultivates salt tolerant vegetables and seaweed in a marine hydroponic system. This system is a solution to salinity intrusion and loss of fertile land and can be used as a complimentary and additive technology to existing shrimp and seaweed farms.

GenetiRate sorts eyed eggs, embryonic fish, and spat based on metabolic rate. By sorting based on metabolic rate they identify animals that are genetically superior for growth.

Finless Foods is producing alternative, sustainable seafood products, both plant-based and cell-cultured, starting with tuna.

FeedVax has a low-cost, oral vaccination platform technology with a first product against Streptococcus in tilapia. Future products include oral vaccination against SRS and several swine and cattle diseases. The company has further developed a smart feeder for the cattle industry called Vetkiosk, which can administrate multiple doses automatically in a remotely controlled process.

ExciPlex is developing innovative diagnostic systems for mycotoxin detection leveraging photochemical diagnostic and smartphone-associated spectroscopic instrumentation.

DeNova is a female-led, Canadian-based, fully integrated methanotrophic bacteria single cell protein producer, converting methane to methanol as feedstock for methanotrophic bacteria production. Located in Alberta, Canada for access to low cost natural gas, DeNova has successfully produced protein at pilot scale and is expanding towards commercial production. Their innovative technology has demonstrated promising results in salmon feeding trials, paving the way for a sustainable and scalable protein solution for various industries.

Cultimar Technologies aims to foster the production of local, fresh, and sustainable seafood through the development of cutting edge, proprietary biological breeding and rearing protocols. They are focused initially on building a hatchery in Puerto Rico for Red Snapper (Lutjanus campechanus) to supply regional farmers with high-quality fingerlings. In addition, Cultimar are considering establishing their own Red Snapper grow-out operation as a second step.

Coast4C is building the world's largest supply chain for regenerative seaweed by aggregating and partnering with thousands of farmers to build a supply of quality, responsibly sourced seaweed, in quantity. Coast 4C are focusing on eucheumatoid seaweeds grown by smallholder fisher-farmers in Indonesia and the Philippines. Eucheumatoids primary market is carrageenan, an additive used in food, cosmetic, pharmaceutical and household products.

Chucaotech is a global leader in nanobubble technology. Their Quetrox™ technology injects nanobubbles into production processes to revitalize soil, water, animals, plants, and minerals with a focus on aquaculture, agriculture, water treatment and mining. Their technology has applications in aquaculture for oxygenation, water treatment and sea lice control.

CFEED is a Norwegian company specializing in live feed solutions for the aquaculture industry. Their focus is on sustainably farmed copepods, tiny crustaceans that provide optimal nutrition for marine fish larvae. Their product, C-podz, consists of premium-quality hatchable Arcatia tonsa copepod eggs designed to enhance growth and health in various fish species, including sea bream, seriola, and turbot.

Certified Quality Foods is an objective quality platform for the perishable food supply chain using bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA). The current subjective standard is sensory (organoleptic) evaluation which leads to large product loss at each node in the supply chain. CQ Foods offer data analytics as a service through a systems approach; a hand held device takes a reading which provides a quality metric, with additional data points (days since harvest, heat abuse, etc) and the data is aggregated and provided as input to quality control decision making.

CageEye helps salmon farmers sustainably optimize production and increase fish welfare. Their hydroacoustic technology listens to and perceives the behavior of a salmon population regardless of underwater visibility and light.

Brilliant Planet is growing algae at large scale for environmental remediation with a vision to be the largest scale, highest quality, Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) company globally. They produce algae and convert it into stable biomass. They then bury that biomass, where it remains stable for thousands of years. This removes CO2 permanently from the atmosphere. In the process they also deacidify vast amounts of seawater, strengthening the local coastal ecosystem. Their operations are in Morocco.

Blue Pond Group (BPG) is using seaweed to control diseases in aquatic species. Their first product is a treatment against shrimp diseases, EHP, WFD and EMS. The treatment is based on the use of sulfated galactan molecules extracted from 3 varieties of seaweed, enriched with organic acids and minerals. This seaweed treatment treats the infection and boosts the animal immune system to fight against other diseases and provide extra energy allowing them to grow faster and healthier.

Blue Lion Labs is developing an early warning system for harmful algal blooms (HABs). HABs can create lethal toxins and deplete oxygen in water destroying ocean, lake and pond ecosystems, impacting aquaculture, public health and tourism and recreation. BLL actively monitors and predicts blooms leveraging AI, providing real time accurate data to enable mitigation and treatment strategies.

b.fab produces a protein feed ingredient that can replace fishmeal in aqua feeds. With 81.9% crude protein and 72.0% true protein (i.e. sum of amino acids), it has an outstanding high protein content. The ingredient is based on a proprietary bacteria strain that uses formate as a carbon and energy source. Formate is produced through electrophoresis from CO2 and water using renewable energy. Their product name is Sustein™.

Aquaconnect is an end-to-end aquaculture inputs and outputs platform with embedded fintech, supported by a physical and digital distribution network. Aquaconnect uses Artificial Intelligence and Satellite Remote Sensing to bring predictability and transparency to the entire aquaculture value chain from farmer to seafood buyer.

ANB Sensors has developed a next generation pH sensor that is calibration free, meaning it has a lower maintenance cost than their competitors. It can be retrofitted to existing sensor systems.

AQUIT is commercialising a platform technology that identifies and produces antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) that improve the immune system. Unlike most prebiotics and probiotics, the AMPs identified by AQUIT mimic native proteins of the animal being treated, which boosts natural immunity and protects against all types of pathogens (bacterial and viral). AQUIT has proof of concept of the technology in salmon with their first product INNBOOST currently undergoing regulatory approval in Chile.

AI Control Technologies (AiCT) specializes in air and water managed depth control systems with extensive applications across multiple verticals including aquaculture, and marine construction. Their first product is AUTODIVE, a computer controlled submersible aquaculture raft, which optimises shellfish growth by increasing space productivity, reducing labour costs and protecting crops from environmental impacts.

Algaeba's fish fry and egg counting device, SeaThru, can count with 95% accuracy in 10 seconds. Their product comes in two forms; a mobile app and a hardware solution.

Alune Aqua empowers smallholder shrimp farmers in Indonesia by providing them with financial support, access to technology, and advisory services while creating investment opportunities for external investors. Alune Aqua helps farmers improve their yields and adopt more sustainable practices. Their certification program, Indogap, ensures product quality and opens doors to international markets, benefiting both farmers and consumers.
